FEDERAL VAX CHANGES 1.17.22

VAX MANDATE UPDATE: A Change on the Federal Level

Last week the Supreme Court struck down parts of the Federal vax-or-mask mandate.

Before we tell you what changed, understand that certain mandates ARE still in effect.

HEALTHCARE WORKERS are still required, under New York State and Federal law, to be vaccinated. The Supreme Court has upheld that.

NEW YORK CITY’s mandate is similarly still in effect. That means all workers who perform in-person work or interact with the public in the course of business

must be vaccinated.

What did change is that the Federal law – through the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) rule (called an ‘Emergency Temporary Standard’ or ‘ETS’) that had been put in effect to require businesses with more than 100 employees to be vaccinated. – can no longer be enforced.  Businesses can still voluntarily impose a vaccine mandate if they choose to do so.

We will do our best to keep you apprised of developments. Please let us know if we can help you with your compliance needs in the meantime.
